Student houses

The Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) has 3750 places in seven Student House Complexes, five of which are located in Ursynów (3460 places), one in Mokotów (150 places) and one on the grounds of the Forest Experimental Station in Rogów (150 places).  SGGW offers students very good housing conditions. All dormitories on campus and DS Oaza are after major renovations (the last in 2012). The renovations included new walls, floors, door frames, fixtures and fittings, and all installations, including a full fire safety system. Each dormitory after the renovation was equipped with new, functional furniture, made according to the design for each building. All dormitories on the Ursynów campus and DS Oaza have a computer network brought to each room with free Internet access and a community antenna for receiving digital terrestrial television programs. A wireless network (wifi) is available in the Krokus dormitory.

The student dormitories have places in single, double and triple rooms. Rooms are grouped into 2-, 3- or 4-room segments, each segment has a spacious bathroom with toilet and shower (in DS Limba, Oasis and Krokus also a kitchenette). In dormitories that do not have kitchenettes, there is a large kitchen on each floor for shared use.

Each student room is equipped with a refrigerator and kitchen cabinets with a countertop for preparing meals. The newest dormitory – DS Limba (built in 2003) is exclusively single and double rooms, each segment with a bathroom, separate toilet and kitchenette.

Each Student Residence Complex has laundry facilities for residents with industrial washing machines with professional laundry chemicals and dryers – made available to students for a small fee.

Students are accommodated in dormitories according to allocation by faculty – which facilitates communication, learning and integration.

Percentage of places in each type of room in dorms in Warsaw: in single rooms – 2% in double rooms – 53% in triple rooms – 45%. Most often, places in 1-bed rooms are granted to disabled students (with commission medical certificates for an indefinite period of time and indications for such accommodation), female students with children and other students in a special situation, each time after individual consideration. Places in 2-bed rooms are mainly granted to students of senior years, while places in 3-bed rooms are granted to students of junior years.

For extramural students coming to conventions, guest rooms are allocated, the reservation of which is made by telephone every 20th of the month for the following month.

Upon accommodation, the student receives:

All other things (dishes, cutlery, household appliances (without a refrigerator, which is in each room or segment) and RTV the resident organizes on his own.
